The Bible can only be a truly powerful book if it presents a unified whole in which Jesus is as clearly present in the Old Testament as in the New Testament. My intention is to publish a series of posts on the topic of finding Jesus in the Old Testament to demonstrate that Jesus is present in the entire Bible, from Genesis 1:1 to the final verse of Revelations.
The first step in demonstrating this is to prove that the Bible is an inspired book, even though there are contradictions in certain places. The Two Types of Biblical Inspiration demonstrates that the Bible was inspired by God and how He did this.
The Big Bang in Genesis 1:1 demonstrates that Jesus is found in the very first word of the Old Testament, the word ‘b’reishit.’
Finding Jesus in the Old Testament examines other places in the Old Testament where Jesus can be found. The blog posts will form an extension to this article.

- Heaven is for Real – Proof that Colton Burpo Visited Heaven: There is no doubt that Colton Burpo visited Heaven because a tiny detail provides indisputable evidence that he saw God the Holy Spirit.
- The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was a City: God is entirely a God of love even though there are parts of the Old Testament which seem to suggest otherwise. I strongly believe that if the content of the Old Testament seems to suggest that there is a different God in the Old Testament to the God of the New Testament, that it is time to look at the Old Testament in a deeper way and with a different perspective. This article examines Genesis 2 and 3 in a way which demonstrates that the Garden of Eden story does align with a loving God.

- Michael S. Heiser – A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing? Discusses the ramifications that result from Michael Heiser replacing the Holy Spirit with the divine council in Genesis 1.
- Genesis 1:1 – The meaning of b’reishit Discusses the meaning of the very first word of the Bible.
My background:
I have an academic background in Biblical Studies. I majored in Biblical Studies at university and earned a distinction and two research bursaries and prior to university I completed two years at an excellent Bible college. However, I do not believe that this academic background is my greatest strength when it comes to studying the Bible. I believe that my greatest strength is that I have the gift of the Holy Spirit, Who is the One Who leads me into a deeper understanding of God and the Bible on a daily basis.
I try to remember the adage: ‘There is no fool like an educated fool’ when it comes to Biblical studies and I recognise that there are many Spirit-filled people who do not have an academic background, but who may very well have deeper insight into the Bible and a much closer relationship with God than I have myself.
I spend nearly two hours washing dishes every day because I don’t own a dishwasher. I use this time to consider the research in Biblical studies that I have done earlier in the day and to think about what it means. I also think about what to write concerning it. I often pray while washing the dishes for insight regarding what difficult Biblical passages mean.
